Álbum es una estrategia visual de decolonizadora de la historicidad íntima afrodescendiente en México que busca preservar la memoria y el archivo familiar. Este trabajo colaborativo se piensa desde lo privado compartiendo herramientas a través de un taller comunitario a sus guardianes de la memoria familiar, compartiendo herramientas de conservación y materiales, a las familias afromexicanas. En lo público este proyecto es una serie de exposiciones itinerantes-comunitarias que contienen una colección de la historia afromexicana. Un archivo en construcción que será donado a la comunidad de la resistencia Afromexicana, y a la Fototeca Nacional, donde no existe ninguna categoría haciendo referencia a la afrodescendencia mexicana.
Album, es también un desafio a la representación visual del mito violento, misógino del mestizaje que siempre aspira a lo blanco, negando la diversidad del origen continental en México, donde usualmente la genealogía se realiza hacia Europa y no a los territorios (pueblos) donde nacieron nuestros abuelxs.

Álbum is a visual strategy to decolonize the intimate historicity of Afro-descendants in Mexico that seeks to preserve the memory and the family archive. This collaborative work is thought from the private sphere, sharing tools through a community workshop to its guardians of family memory, sharing conservation tools and materials with Afro-Mexican families. Publicly this project is a series of traveling-community exhibitions containing a collection of Afro-Mexican history. An archive under construction that will be donated to the Afro-Mexican resistance community, and to the Fototeca Nacional, where there is no category referring to Mexican Afro-descent.
Album is also a challenge to the visual representation of the violent, misogynist myth of mestizaje that always aspires to the white, denying the diversity of the continental origin in Mexico, where usually the genealogy is made towards Europe and not to the territories (towns) where our grandparents were born.
